For a further twist, was the Kaby lightweight BOO911F an entirely new car or was it built from his earlier lightweight car 765AWW?

I'm keen to find out where this term "Lombard Rally" we so often see so named these days comes from. I never ever heard any such use "in period". It was always the "RAC".UHR850 wrote:BOO 911F on the Lombard Rally 1974
74 was certainly the first time Lombard were the main named sponsor, following the Sun and the Daily Mirror, although Lombank had been a "hidden" sponsor for many years.

Thanks guys for your observations about my car which I had not seen until Pete mentioned this tread to me yesterday.
Rather then answering any questions/observations raised by contributors about my car's history in a piece meal manner here, may I say that a detailed article on my car is being written by a third party and hopefully will shortly appear in CooperWorld. I will see if it can be reproduced on this forum after publication.

It's the late Mr Ronnie McCartney. I had the honour of meeting him a few times and he was a really lovely and humble man.UHR850 wrote:Just a picture I took in 1999 in the UK from 7444 JL on a meeting

That car (reg by the way is 7444 JI not JL) won the Circuit of Ireland outright in 1964.
