Well it's taken a lot longer than we had hoped but the Crayford came back from the upholsterers earlier this month with a lovely new covering on it's hood.
Image

It's been treated to a set of Newton Commercial moulded carpets that fit very nicely after being trimmed to fit around the cars additional bracing.

A lovely set of Mini Spares 4.5" S rims shod with Camac's have also made their way onto the car.
Image

It's all back together now, MOTed and ready to go back to it's owner.

The brocade interior really works well with the body colour.

Hood up, there are also rear quarter screen that pop to seal it up if you're brave enough to take it out in the rain. :P

Hopefully it will be making it's way to Castle Combe for the mini action day in September for everyone to see. 8-)

I was looking at this thread now that mine is getting to a similar stage (painted and away having the hood trimmed) - with two early Crayford restorations under their belts Phil and Chris are fast becoming the world experts on these conversions! :)

Looks really good, just a question on the rear quarter windows what replaces them as it looks open on pics, is there some side window panels that have to go in.

We're certainly becoming familiar with them now, we popped up to see 30 PPO to get some pics of the hood recently. It's been out and about transporting the owners grandchildren around over the summer and is looking very tidy.

There's a frame with two pegs on the bottom that slot into the waist rail and are trimmed in the same material as the hood. I'll stick some pictures up of James's quarter windows once it's back from the trimmers.

This is was the very early one's looked like although 30 PPO has a slightly different shaped frame.

I'm not sure Jens that might be a little for gone even for me. I can't believe he's even put a reserve on it.
