Central oil pickup fouled by remote reverse fork

Post by syljua »

Hi,

In the closing stages of rebuilding my remote gearbox, I was going to fasten up the central oil
pickup tube, when I notice that the intake and strainer of it, is going to be hit by the
movement of the reverse gear fork (in the pictures, the reverse is not engaged);

Do you think I can bend the pipe enough outward, to clear the fork? And bend it with the pipe
still in the box (a bit of components to loosen to get it out again...)?

I had a similar issue where my pipe was hitting the crank - so I tried to bend the pipe on mine whilst it was still in the box and the gauze came away from the pipe :(

Once I stripped it all to pieces again so I could fit another one, I found filing the hole larger that the pipe goes through the casting in the box made my pipe fit much better without the need for bending it.

Try the crank if you can before you bolt it all together!
