That is an amazing restoration Rene and just the sort of inspiration that I need as I am now in the assemble stage of my '66 1275 S restoration, it too is OEW with the black roof.

Your posts are full of very useful bits of information and photos which are a great help.

One point that surprised me was the use of a strip of foam one the end of the door latch, was that standard? I don't recall seeing that when I stripped mine down - although that was a very long time ago.

Hi there Mike...

And thanks for your kind words on my project. I had so many questions about my project. So i'm working on a kind of help with over 1000 pictures of how the car really was build, and how to rebuild the parts original.

About youre question. Yes. There should be a little strip of foam before you fit it. To take small vibrations/water from outside.. About 10mm wide..

Well it been a while since latest update on my restoration.. so here´s where i´m at now.

Working on the front trim.

The grille " moustache " are now fitted, also with the whiskers. Its a pleasure working with original parts.. allways fit.

Also been working on the bonnet.

The holes was measured out before painting. So nothing special here.. just small adjustment, and on with the badges.. bonnet ready to fit..

Next im going to make and add the sound insulation. update will follow.

Well, It´s been a while since I last had a update on my project I know. But really benn bussy over the spring and summer, but now I finally got some time to write again.
The car don´t need that much, before I can have a MOT on it, and then get some numbers on it.

But here a little update since last time.

The car have now been moved from my other workshop, back to my garage where I live. Before that, I really thought that my garage needed a little makeover before I had it back home.
Its quite nice that its now possible to walk right out there, instead of driving every time you planed to work on it.

Back to whats its really about...

After following the threat inhere about the black front panel, which I really did not know, the next thing was to have the front panel painted black before the restored Austin grille would be fitted.
It sometimes feels like 2 step ahead, and 1 back when you get to this point

I had the filterhouse fitted, and had a adjustment on the engine and carbs. It´s really running like a sewing machine now.

The great looking yellow tags from Mark are also fitted on the Lucas HT leads as original...

The only problem I actually had was that the red lamp in the speedo Wouldn't turn off.. Found the problem in the control box. I carefully cleaned the points with sandpaper, and now it works...

Next job now are fitting the original windscreen, so I'm quite excited how that job will come out
