Anyone fancy shelling out £4K for a MK2 shell with cover sills, the wrong rear light and a dodgy tunnel? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMC-Austin-Mo ... true&rt=nc

That location would tie in with Roger Phillips who sold the car at Bonhams

He is one of the original builders of 'Pandora'

Looks like a random collection of parts to me but technically could have been one of the earliest surviving S's?

'restored to a high standard' but they save a tenner by not fitting the upper dash vinyl....

Looks like it was nailed together by Mr Magoo but an early May or possibly April '63 1071 (if there's anything left of it) is a rare thing! I had a May '63 and that had high seat belt mounts, chrome catches, wire washer bottle clips etc etc.. There can't be many earlier S's than that one and when the seller's dad bought it new it must have been a big deal in their street! A lot of buyers of S's in the first month or two of production would have been influential people, they were hard to get hold of!

With provenance like that , it's a shame about the detailing ,Be nice to see some pictures of before restoration , although it looks like their might not have been a lot of it left , mk2 clutch-housing , no servo or holes , and isn't that bracket under clutch master for a hydo pipe?

It is registered as an Austin Mini Cooper and the registration date is too early to be a Mk 1 S - if the date the DVLA have is correct (7th May 1963).

As long as the buyer is happy, it could be a sportspack

I would imagine that the buyer would be very pissed off if it turns out to be a Cooper and not an S.

I think it has the correct copper and rubber oil pipe, just fitted by Stevie Wonder's blinder brother.

It also has Cooper carbs with the vacuum port blanked and the Cooper heat shield (with the clip for the damping bottle in the vacuum line.

It has a mark 3 airbox (without the spring clip for the throttle return), a join in the heater hose, the control box on upside down and the chassis/VIN plate is missing. Not sure why the breather from the rocker box is the way it is either or what that braided line is doing going through the inner wing by the wiper motor. The petrol feed pipe from the underfloor seems to be doing 2 laps of the engine bay as well....

Carb dampers are overfilled as well....

I'd want it a bit (actually a lot) better for 28k
