Would that have been around £10,995 new or something like that. I looked at a buying a new 12" wheel Cooper around that time. IIRC it was £9,750.

I bet it was more than that

its got a electric webasto and burr walnut door cappings etc., so the original owner must have been a little tick happy on the options list!

Was there an option to paint the underside.

And another huge roof plaster, at least the Mk3 S is colour coded. :)

I reckon a reasonably good Mk1 S would have been about the same money as the Sportpack with all the options in 1998? The problem with a delivery mileage Rover though is that it devalues everytime you drive it!

Yep that'd been over ten K I reckon. I also looked at buying one new in 2000, and as the new Mini wasn't much more expensive I decided against both of them and carried on thrashing a Mk3 Golf around.

Should have stumped up the cash for the MPi (mind you at least by not buying one, I've not had to restore it!)

I cant believe the seller even thought that they were worth a £29.99 starting bid

I bet even a .99p start wouldn't have attracted a bid

they are toast!
