Shelsley Walsh Classic Hillclimb July 18/19th

Post by Pete »

The MAC is running the Shelsley Classic again 18th and 19th of July. All pre 1980 cars, great venue , great cars, great facilities and even better local pub( ;) )

Always a great event, I should be there on the Sunday (staying over at the venue Sat night), anyone else fancy it?

I'm filling out my entry for as we speak. Always a spectacular day out which Stirling Moss always attends.

See you there Pete. Saturday night BBQ and Beers?

You missed this last year Mick...

We also tried the local hostelry last year once the Shelsley bar had shut, that turned out to be an epic night so maybe another option Mick?

This is actually how steep it is....

Ok there's a few Minis on the entry list for this but I'm now looking for any sporting Mini derivatives for an impromptu Max Mini display in the paddock on Sunday 19th (and possibly a run up the hill). Anyone with a Landar R6 out there? We've already got a Jem, race Ogle and my Unipower GT. Any more for any more with a competition Plastic Fantastic?

Hi pete, As you know I am really disappointed that I am already committed this weekend, I was really hoping to be competing. Hope you get a good turnout.

Shame you can't make it Mark, it's a great meeting. Trying to get a very early race Marcos and think I've also got a very modified race Cox GTM to join the line up. A Maximum Mini Sport display!

Derek Bell has now been added to the list of special guests at this event, he'll be driving a Broadspeed Jaguar XJ12C amongst other cars.

My impromptu "Maximum Performance Mini" (catchy eh?) display will be on "The Flat" adjacent to the track and will feature my Unipower GT, a Jem, Ogle, Marcos and Cox GTM amongst other sporting derivatives hopefully on the Sunday. Anyone else with a similar car wanting to join in just drop me a line!

Camping is also available on Saturday evening.

Not really - I only spoke to him to put him in touch with Jeroen, and can't find his details at the moment. Probably best to get in touch via Jeroen as the car's in Maximum Mini 2

He seems to use it pretty regularly, so a good chance he'd be up for it

No rain on the forecast! 8-)

Really looking forward to this, hoping some of the old boys will recognise my car in the flesh this year (a few did say they remembered it last time!). We've got a nice spot right next to the track , anyone going to the event please come along and say hello!
