REAR BRAKE HOSE/ Hydrolastic Subframe Help

Post by jl46 »

Hello All,
We are looking for some help in attaching the rear brake hose to the Hydrolastic Subframe.

It seems that there is a "upper" and "lower" attachment point. Please take a look at the attached photo and tell us if we have it correct or if it should be moved.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the reply, however, we are still not sure we have the correct placement of the brake pipe thru the Wet rear subframe (21A2160).

Please take a look at this second photo with the subframe out of the car and advise. It is hard to imagine that the pipe would attach thru the lower opening.

Thanks for you help.

Hi,

Yes, the hydro type brake hose does fit into the lower hole. The hose bracket on the radius arm is underneath the arm rather than on top like on a dry car.

The brake pipe is a totally different shape to that of a dry car.

Agreed, it'll just about go together thought the top holes then at full bump it stretches the lines. Much easier to sort than when it's in and the exhaust is on :-)
