MK2 steering column support

Hi

Is there supposed to be some sort of lower support for the steering column...when i stripped my car there was some homemade sort of thing but is there a correct part?

It seems to need it cos its flapping in the wind at the moment!!

Not sure what you mean, but normally the steering column is anchored at the parcel shelf level and that's all. The lower end can't move far because it's attached to the pinion of the steering rack.
