laygear endfloat.

Post by 5portsrock »

Hi, just doing a dummy build of my 4 sync remote box.
On fitting the layshaft with the std larger shim and then the smallest (22g856) shim im left with tight 0.002 end float. Ideally i would of liked it nearer the top end of clearance (0.005). Ive checked the casing for any burrs and dirt but its all good. Also tried changing the shims for same pt numbered items and get the same clearance.
Should i get the smaller shim machined for a few thou extra clearance or just leave it???
Thanks alot

just get a bit of glass and put a bit of wet&dry paper on it, with a bit of light oil you will be able rub the thrust washer on it and take a bit off it.
should you wish, you can contact me on rich@minispares.com
