Evening all,
Looking for, ideally, an unused Bosch Blue Coil for my new engine.
They seem to be out of stock everywhere at the moment. Not super urgent but just trying to sort bits and bobs for when it’s ready.
Anyone have anything?
Was told that a Lucas Sports coil would do instead but have only heard tales of woe for new ones.
Cheers
Gary

Re: Bosch Blue Sports Coil
123Ignition shop have this https://www.123ignitionshop.com/gb/coil ... _Coil.html
The blurb says it is better than the original Bosch blue.
On one of my A series I have a 123Ignition distributor and a Pertronix Flame Thrower 1 coil (3 ohm, oil filled, part No 40511)
Been running it for about 3 years and seems fine. Bog standard 1275, no mods.
However the Pertronix coil, though a US brand, is made in China (that is what mine said on the box). Maybe nearly all brands are now ?
At the time I tried to source a Bosch blue, as that is what 123 Ignition recommended (and still do by the looks of things https://123ignition.com/support/ > "what coil .... ") but couldn't source in my part of the world.
If you follow that link above you will see a mention of Lucas towards the end.

Thanks Rob,
I’ll have a look into them, interesting what they say about Lucas coils as well.
Thanks again.
