12H733 - Vacuum Pipe with Fuel Trap

Post by Chapmag »

Looking for a NOS/original in good condition of the above.

I bought one from Mini Spares and the pipe between the fuel trap and carb is to short.

I saw on Bull Motif's website a photo of this item with the correct amount of pipe, sadly when it arrived it was the same as the Mini Spares one!

Any help gratefully received.

Minispares don't list a 12H733

Do you have a picture?

12H733 was also used on MGB, that might give you the extra length needed

What engine is it for and which part is too short (which side of the bulb).

I think I have a couple used ones of 850 engines but will have to check tomorrow.

Hi again Andrew,

In the top (Somerford) photo, the shortest pipe (to the left of the fuel trap) is approx. 5 3/4 inches, it needs to be nearly double that to allow for it to be cut to size.

Any assistance gratefully received!!

I have to add that both Somerford and Bullmotif have agreed to refund me (albeit I have to pay the return postage!!).

Yes, as I need to drop off Lego advent calendars to my Godsons (I think you met them very briefly).
I'll have a look through the donor engines and boxes of bits for one.

I did indeed meet your two Godsons.
I'm not sure whether they or I was the most excited as you took my windscreen and your Settrington out of the back of your van!
Any update on the vacuum pipe from yourself or Andrew?
TIA, G
