For Sale Section Rules

PLEASE NOTE! Postings in this section are deleted automatically after they have not been looked at for 30 days.

1) This section is for advertising items that you have for sale. Not for the discussion of listed items. If you wish to debate the pro's & Con's of any item listed, please start a new topic in the appropriate section.

2) Please DO NOT post links to your ebay auctions. This section is NOT for the advertisement of your ebay auctions.

3) If you have a number of items to sell, post them in a single ad marked "Multiple Parts" or similar. DO NOT post many individual advertisements as this forces everyone else's listings down the page.

4) It is expected that any items advertised on the forum are described fairly & honestly. It is the duty of the seller to ensure that this is the case.

5) Items listed for sale should WHEREVER POSSIBLE* be offered with a purchase price, not asking for bids from members. If you wish to auction your item to the highest bidder I would suggest you use ebay & pay the associated fees.

6) This section is offered as a free service to enthusiasts. Any deals made are between the buyer & seller only. The MK1 forum takes no part in any transaction & the appearance of any item in this section is not a recommendation. I strongly suggest that both buyers & sellers are happy to proceed with a deal before any money or goods change hands.

7) It expected that people posting items for sale are "Active Members of this community". Any Adverts placed by members with a post count lower than 5 will be deleted.

8) The advertising of or soliciting for VIN tags, log books or any other vehicle identification documentation without it's associated vehicle is expressly forbidden. Any member breaking this rule will have his membership terminated with immediate effect.

9) If a moderator considers any postings in this section to violate either the spirit or word of these simple requests the MK1 Forum reserves the right to delete any posts without prior warning or explanation.

10) The posting of items for sale on the MK1 forum constitutes explicit acceptance of these simple rules.

11) Members posting items for sale MUST include a rough location in their profile.

It would be much appreciated if sellers could leave the sale price on adverts after the item has been sold. This acts as a good measure of current value for other sellers.

* In some cases it may not be possible for the seller to list items with a sale price. In this case, listings will be reviewed on a case by case basis by a moderator. The moderators decision will be final.

Mk1 Minisprint

Post by Coolcars69 »

Based on Austin Seven 1960. Was professionally converted by Paul Wiginton 3+ years ago. A completely new floor was installed and all the panels that were replaced are heritage. After the work was complete, Paul installed a bespoke 3 point roll over cage, and expertly trimmed all the glass to fit. The shell was then sprayed with 2 pack paint in Island Blue and Old English White roof. The underneath was also painted the same colour. The build was then completed installing a professionally powder coated lightened mk1 subframe, and powder coated rear subframe. The shell was also modified to accept a second petrol tank, pit/paddock stand inserts in the sills, and a removable fan shrowd to ease servicing on the n/s of the engine, seat rails to ensure the seats aren't sitting on the floor. All was done professionally by Paul. The concept of the car was to have the old school classic cafe racer / restomod. I have used as many period correct components that I can find, but as for the brakes and suspension I have uprated them to 4 pot callipers. The mini sits on original 4.5" Cooper S rims, spaced 10mm on the front to clear the callipers, and 20mm on the rear to keep the rim flushed with the rear arch. The brightwork is Cooper Mk1 style. Headlights are Halogen uprated. The interior is minimalist, I have sound proofed in specific areas using butyl matt, the original headliner is retained, however I have not installed door panels as I want to ensure that water ingress remains manageable and doesn't create the hidden rot for years to come. The engine is an 850cc semi race engine with pocketed block, 731 cam 2nd cam bearing, Cooper connecting rods, strengthened crank, lightened flywheel, ported Copper 1275S head mated to a 3 sync Cooper SCCR gearbox. The drive train has uprated drive shafts, mated through a hardy spicer nylon couplings. The carburation is HIF44 single SU for ease of setup. The engine is very strong and would probably easily match the performance of a 1275, wit the added thrills of RPM. The dashboard was also built by Paul, it is an aluminium dash which has been covered with a black leatherette finish. On the dash there is the regular gauges a 100mph speedo, and a battery cut out switch. The only downside of the car is that we trial fitted some arches and drilled a couple of small holes, didn't like that look so removed the arches sealed around 5 small pin holes with and filled the hole and painted over. Easy to put back or maybe future arches. The car is available in Wrotham, Kent. I am a motivated seller and am looking for best offer around GBP 25,000.00 which if you know the cost of the work is a fraction of the cost. If you think its right for you then please contact me through this ad Tel: 07467 460980.
