Was GH actually involved though? I thought he'd retired from all that nonsense.

Yes, I got an email back from the auction house asking for more information.

I sent them the link to the start of this thread, so they can make their own decision whether to represent the seller of this car.

I don’t know if it was a GH car for sure, but it definitely has that feel…

GH is certainly still about. He has been sending threatening emails to a member here as well as threatening to come & "Sort" various people out at Blyton. TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a member here.

Needless to say all the threating messages, most of which were rather foolishly made via FB pm have been saved by the recipient, just in case.

Wow! This thread is a real eye-opener.

When I looked at the car on the CCA auction site, I said to my other half that the car sounded a bit fishy and something was not quite right!

I sold a pair of NOS rear lights a while back on eBay to GH. What’s the odds they’re on this car…?

Yes I’ve seen those messages which as I understand it are currently logged with the police. Incidentally anybody wanting to sort anybody else out at Blyton will be very disappointed to learn that they won’t get past the gate so might want to save themselves the petrol. 🤷‍♂️

I wouldn't worry. Those that threaten are generally all wind and piss anyway.

Crikey! And from all the videos I've been watching in preparation for hopefully attending Blyton this year I'd assumed it was a innocent affair to enjoy some spirited and fun Mini action. Not the opportunity to rough up other members of the Mini community... I'm reforming my opinion of you lot! :D :D :D

Thanks for the tip off Mark.
I’ve been in touch with CCA’s Stacey Williams who is handling the sale , and I have pictures of the car to her as it looked when I bought it.
I had the car inspected by the Mini Cooper registrar at the time who confirmed it was the real thing .
I was the second owner, and although the car was exceptionally sound after only 29000 miles it went to mini machine for a repaint and I refreshed the mechanicals and reassembled the car.
I kept it for a couple of years and sold it to I think Sussex Sportscars who said it was heading to Japan .
It seems to have had a very interesting new history created!!
