Dealer plaques / badges locations

Post by Exminiman »

Anyone had a mini with a dealer dashboard badge ?

They used to be popular on cars with wooden dashes, nut never seen one in a mini, not quite sure where you would fit one…..

Have seen plaques on door shuts, on inner wings, but not in dash.

Whats driving question is I have a dealer plaque, but I am dubious as to whether it was off an earlier car of a different model..and where it was fitted.

Mine is so big thy weren't able to fit it on the dash or anywhere else, so it's fitted to the doorbin. Other locations include the cross member on the sill side or in between the seats

Thanks for the replies, the heater panel does seem like quite a neat and logical place to have one…….

My mini came with a small dealer transfer on the dash rail; photo below. I tried to preserve it by soaking it and sliding it off but it was very delicate and broke into many parts which are now held between two pieces of glass. A recent thread about BMC rosettes referenced 'I say ding dong' who make stickers and dealer badges. This is the sort of thing they can make:

I am hoping they can make me a close copy of the original. Fingers crossed.

If it's a plaque and not transfer I suppose it could still have been fitted outside...mine is on the rear number plate between a couple of the letters..

My folks' 1970 1275GT was supplied new by Tilleys in Dorchester and has a small gold decal on the inside of the passenger door near the screen pillar.

Just had the artwork back from Ding Dong for my North Heaton Garage sticker. Really pleased with what they've done. They've done a really good job with the fonts. I've asked them to add the missing hyphen. The actual stickers will be printed on gold vinyl so should look even better. Very reasonable price too for a bespoke sticker.
