Blyton ideas

Post by Pete »

So as we get a couple of tiddlers racing around Blyton paddock every year in peddle cars how’s about we get into the competitive parent market  and hold a peddle car Mini race for the kiddies at Blyton Goodwood style?

2nd idea.. what about a one lap sponsored Moulton bike race around the track? Fancy dress optional but encouraged. Possibly run on bogey times due to my bad knee.

Can't believe that fancy dress is a good idea not at all aerodynamic
Maybe compulsory lycra is the best way to encourage competitors

Compulsory Lycra could be the best way to clear the paddock.

My nipper is too big for his Leeway 60's pedal car now, he would have loved a race in that at one point

Like Pete, I am open to any suggestions that people think would improve Blyton, but not at the cost of our primary activity.

All suggestions welcome.

Sold mine to the late Paul Lips many years back after my kids grew out of it. Would love another once grandkids come along but no sign of those yet!
A Lancaster fly past sounds great but I think we’ve more chance of “The Blyton 3” getting back together, got the cones ready if they do though! 😆

If I can work the logistics, I'll 'parade' the Moulton, but Lycra free (and that does not mean in the buff! )

Any thoughts on guest speakers again?

That's more of a ransom situation rather than charity, I feel!

How about a timed 'Engine in and out' challenge for two or more teams?

1) Fastest engine out and on the deck?
2) Fastest refit with the car up and running with a victory lap?

Bit of a pre lunch spectacle for removal and maybe post lunch for the refit??

A board with 100 squares with different times on it. Advertise it on the forum in advance. Buy as many squares as you wish.
The winner is the person with the most accurate guess at the winning time. Say £10/£20 a square?

Prizes? You boys seem to come up with some great prizes and maybe you could offer AA recovery for the losers

- Count the bristles on a boot board.

- Make a mankini from a roll of gold brocade. (The judge's decision is final)

Would it be possible to have a dedicated car/ project sales area,
with a donation to charity from any confirmed sales.
I haven't managed to visit recently due to work clashes ☹️
so this may already be a feature, apologies if it is.
I can make it this year happily.🙂.
