I used enough poison to kill every thing within 2 counties to get rid of my mouse problem. Now it seems that the black snakes take care of the problem.

Re: Go away Rodent
A few bait boxes in "dark, quiet" corners & maybe a bit of bait initially under the bonnet where they have been making a nest.
We had a real problem with this a few years ago, but a conscientious round or two of baiting certainly did the trick.
The sticky pads that Peter suggests certainly work, but getting rid of the victims is a mighty unpleasant job. Not one I'd choose to have to do.

Re: Go away Rodent
My cat is 21 years old (= 100 in human years) and sleeps a lot more than he used to....but when he is awake he is still pretty good at evicting any mice planning to take up residence in my garage.....often coming in the cat flap and proudly leaving the deceased rodent on our kitchen floor!

Well they don't seem to like the smell of cheese
or at least the ones that avoid my humane mouse traps in my workshop don't

Peanut butter works was well.
Poison just means they die in your garage, decompose and stink.

Re: Go away Rodent
Costa is correct about them crawling away, but they usually hide away when they crawl off to die. Out of sight, out of mind
We have only had one "stinker" and that was a rat about the size of a sausage dog

Or get a beagle. One of our beagles 'comet' was like a dog possessed with them. Especially on long country walks

I have found they love chocolate. A few traps laced with that should rid of the little sods. To deter them they also hate the smell of peppermint. I spray some strong peppermint essence around too.

Re: Go away Rodent
We had a mouse problem a few years ago, used humane traps and went round stuffing metal gratings in any small gaps and vents in the walls which helped but the traps were not so succesful. I almost had a greater succesrate stalking one with a shoebox and lunging for it. After far too long I finally got rid of them.
When a few months ago I heard rustling in the garage from between the gardening supplies I quietly bought a poison bait box and tucked it away. Rustling stopped soon after, never saw or smelled the body even after the tropical heat we had this summer. The one that got trapped in a bucket a few years ago and went naturally however... That one stank to high heaven.

Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!

Re: Go away Rodent
I have tried humane traps too.
Sadly, they were useless. Had to go old school on them in the end, albeit reluctantly.

Re: Go away Rodent
A council pest controller told me the poison effectively dehydrates them, so they go off in search of water before finally keeling over - that's why the bodies aren't usually found decomposing in your garage.
