Good day.
So I am still trying to identify my car. More specifically the year and origin.
There are some confusing facts.
1. There is 2 makersplates. See attached pics
2. From what I have read the cars from UK did not come out with light green or Lime interior
I have been all over this car and for the life of me can not find any markings on the floor, Bonnet crosmember, or the fender stiffener.

Mark has placed it as a 1964.
From what I learned from the previous owner, she claimed it to be around 1962 and one of the last whole imports to South Africa.

What do you guys think??

I'd say 64/65.

That Blackheath plate means it was assembled there from a CKD. It would have locally sourced green interior from there.

Also according to the SA spec green did not form part of their colour scheme.
Even the Tweed Gray was not part of the SA colours.

CKD stands for Complete Knock Down. Kit of parts supplied from UK to be assembled in receiving country. In your case South Africa built up at Blackheath Assembly Plant, Cape Town. Hence the Blackheath plate. Many parts sourced locally such as interior trim and glass.

Many cars were CKD this helped identify them a "locally made" and enabled them to avoid import tax. If the car has a Blackheath tag as well as a Cowley one, then it is certainly a CKD car. On the SA logbook it will often (but not always) identify them as being "Assembled from parts".

I found a SA stamp on my mini's inner wing as well. Ok so it looks asif it is indeed a CKD
Now if I can only establish what year.
Nick is there any other form of identification that I can look for?
I checked the fender stiffeners, the cross member where the Bonnet drops onto, the floor pan as well as the dash ( if i can call it that) but can't find any markings.

You can apply for a heritage certificate for it, as details for your car would have been recorded when the components where built in GB. mine didn't specify colour, so not sure if they where sent out in primer and painted in SA
