Just spent half an hour on the phone to RH, lots of surprising questions about sat nav  ,etc. Didn’t seem to have any understanding of classic cars at all unfortunately, let alone 60s Minis. Next!

Well after a chat with Haggerty we managed to get to a reasonable premium (whatever that is) and the renewal price was brought down quite abit so always worth talking before you go elsewhere. Just seems all abit unnecessary to me! A good mate of mine insures his Mk2 S with Lancaster for about £130 inc agreed value and another insures his Mk1 S with CVI for about the same, very low road miles, so that seems to be the competitive end of the market and I’ll probably speak to both of those next year!

I have been with RH on my classic Mini for years but I left them this year as the once simple renewal process over the phone, also made also me feel like they no longer have any understanding of classic cars at all. Probably due to the letter I received recently saying they were under new ownership?

I have 3 S s £125,000 combined to renew next month . last year withCVI was £280 for the 3. 3k miles each if you go over the3k drops back to 3rd party only. Watch this space as everyone is saying it’s all gone up.

I too have ditched RH after many years for the exact same reason.

I’m with AbbeyAutoline based in Northern Ireland . Been insured with them for years now.

This years renewal was just under £600 but that was for five cars, the 4 Minis and my 306, which at £120 a car I didn’t think was bad.

I have looked around elsewhere but the prices are really no better or the savings are just not worth the hassle of going through the rigmarole of condition forms, listing modifications and more photos.

That said if it goes up by any amount next year then I may have to look more seriously around at what’s on offer .

I've been using Locktons for a few years now - I believe part of Chubb. Very easy to deal with on the phone and have a name to speak to who knows my policy - rather yester year customer service which is also very efficient...
