They have just shown this valuation again on the BBC Antiques Roadshow of a pair of Heuer stopwatches originally acquired as a gift from a person that rallied for the MG and Morris 'works' team and said they were rallied in most of the European rallies. Expert John Foster was thrilled to value the guest's items as he revealed: "I’ve been looking for a pair of these for years." Speaking about how good the quality of the watches were, John added: “The quality of them is staggering. The condition you just couldn’t ask for better condition. “They would have been mounted together on the dashboard, they’ve got a weird hook on the back, that needs to come off, that shouldn’t be there. Do you know the car that these were in?” The guest answered: “Yes, I do. I actually know the registration of that particular Mini.” Moving on to speak about how much the watches were worth, John told them that if they could find the particular Mini they came from, then the value would increase.
"It would make a huge difference," John added. "Assuming that it’s just a standard rally car, for a better word. “I would say an auction estimate of easily £4,000-£6,000. But if you can find that providence and link it to a car which still survives, then you’re pretty much looking at naming your own price because someone will want them....even if the car no longer exists someone will be interested in the car and it's history.”
