Received mine & I'm very pleased indeed. I have been told that there is no chance of them doing the inners though

Re: Magnum alloy bonnet skin
Hi, my OBL45F restoration is being done in epoxy two pak. The base sealer for the steel shell is a different product to what seals the aluminium panels. Apparently corrosion can occur under the paint if you do not use the correct aluminium one. The body shop was not aware of that, it was a paint manufacturer who pointed it out. The car should be painted in a couple of weeks. cheers Lindsay

I believe it is just a self etch primer needed, perhaps Nick W could comment.lomin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 11:07 pm Hi, my OBL45F restoration is being done in epoxy two pak. Yes I use etch primer,... thing I find with aluminium, it it can be contaminated very easily, After sanding it need primer on straight away, as is oxidise quickly. Best way to ensure a perfect key for the primer is to carefully blast clean the alloy, obviously at a low pressure/ fine glass bead . I handle it with gloves on once it's ready for primer, as sweat will mark it, causing problems months after its painted.
