1275 GT thread
OK, looks like a few are in favor of a GT thread. Will kick it off.
Mine is an Oct 70.
Has the silver displacers....
6K rev counter.
Plastic air box.
Bonnet prop on LH side.
No large holes on the inner wings.
Cut out box on the RH side of the firewall....dynamo
Remote shifter with the correct gearbox. ...Don't know what ratios are inside.
Not sure if the seats are original....they do have double stitching if that helps.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Hi
its great to have a 1275gt tread , love them
mine is a 1972 December built / January 1973 registered
I brought it out my local paper in 2002 (Hereford times) from Ludlow , for £275 ! I went to buy a mk3 s but that was already sold once I got there
I finally finished it 3weeks before our wedding in 2019

Re: 1275 GT thread
Here's the old dog of an early 1275GT I had in the mid 80's. I think it was registered in January 1970. It crabbed badly and was brush painted and had nice pink buttoned draylon interior with nasty must coloured bucket seats, no pictures of that unfortunately!
Can't remember if it had a left hand bonnet prop or holes in the inner wings. It had 7.5" discs, fat S steering arms, servo was missing but brackets were still there, hydro suspension, black vinyl covered A pillars and rear bins, tapered chrome remote gear stick, toggle switches and central ignition key, chrome rocker cover.
It was a dog back then but I wish I'd still got it.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Almost makes me cry now,but about 12 years ago I scrapped a genuine 1978 GT.
It had sat outside my mother in laws house for a long time and she wanted it gone-they were not sought after then obviously.it wasn’t even that bad.
What an utter bloody fool.
It was actually fitted with a round nose because the previous owner didn’t like Clubmans, and had a mg metro lump fitted, but was a genuine gt reg no.
ACA 200S. My father passed away this year ,and clearing his garage out I actually found the HIF44 that was fitted to it!!

Re: 1275 GT thread
Here is a picture of my 1275 GT from South Africa.
We seem to have had a few different things compared to the UK Model.
Mine is a 71 model, number 120 off the production line and we only had 935 GT, from 71 to 73, then the GTS took over from the GT with higher performance specs.

Re: 1275 GT thread
I for one have learnt loads reading the 1275 GT thread - maybe admins could move some of the posts over here ?
Especially the stuff that helps in identifying genuine GTs and the changes by years....
