Had to venture into the loft to dig these out....
One of my regrets not keeping my mk1 and it was my first car aswell. Picture was taken in 1987.

Then a fresh 1380 lump, 12" wheels and a new grill. Was easy back then, I would spend my earnings in the shop where I worked. Plenty of parts readily available. That engine went really well but hated tickover :(

I hope it still exists - according to the DVLA website it hasn't been taxed since August 2002. I remember taking the photos of it that day in '91 and drooling over it, all I could afford at the time was a slightly ratty looking twelve year old Clubman and the thought of owning a proper Cooper S seemed light years away.
