"Cannon" Rubber Mat Sets

Post by mk1 »

Just testing the water, but I have the opportunity to import some brand new Rubber Floor Mats from Japan.

These are made in the style of the much sought after 1960's Cannon Mats for MK1 Minis. These mats come in a set of 4, 2 front & 2 back and are available in either Grey or Black.

Now the tricky bit. They will be imported direct from Japan & are therefore not cheap. I anticipate a cost of around £200 per set including all shipping fees taxes etc. But NOT INCLUDING shipping from me to the final customer.

Is anyone interested in joining me in this bulk deal?

When compared to original Cannon Mats of dubious condition, I think these do represent good value for money, but I do appreciate that it is a hell of a lot for 4 rubber mats.

Please post here or PM me direct if you are interested.

Thanks, Mark F

Mark,

I would definitely go for a grey set. I will also speak to a couple of mates who may well be interested. I’ll get back to you.

Thanks for the interest.

It looks like there will be enough interest to proceed.

I'll hang fire for a few days before I confirm so anyone else has a chance to join in if possible.

So far, those people interested & prepared to place a firm order are;

MK1 - 2 x grey
Smokegrey - 1 x Grey
DearG1275 - 1 x Grey
Drumbogle - 1 x Black
Timell - 2 x Black
Polarsilver - 1 x Black
Agricola - 1 x Black
Hanilminiman - 1 x Grey
Thefarmer - 1 x Black
Southwest - 1 x Black
Morris-minor - 1 x Black, 1 x Grey
66Traveller - 1 x Black
Ronaldino - 1 x Black

I can order most easily in multiples of 5 so there is at least 1 spot left.

Just to be absolutely clear, I am purchasing these with the help of long time forum member Ted Wong & neither Ted or I are making a penny out of the deal, I will have to pay up front for the mats & cover any import taxes & duties before anything is invoiced to anyone. We are both just doing it to help fellow Miniists.
