So this does matter. If it doesn’t then none of this matters. Just saying “everybody knows about it” clearly makes zero difference, never has done, at least I’m trying to! If that’s my crime, I’ll happily own that. Greg Hales gets absolutely hammered on here for pulling stunts like this, rightly so but for some odd reason this is too awkward to treat the same way , possibly because it upsets a certain club. What’s the old saying ? Bad things happen when good people do nothing.
There is a reason that I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in Red & White cars & I actively discourage the talk about them on here. It's because the subject is poisonous!

The history of DJB 93B is very well known & anyone planning on spending £100,000 plus should do a bit of research before they spaff that much money over an old Mini. Other people seem to think that going on endlessly about it serves some purpose. I'm not going to fall out with anyone over it, but feel that going on & on does nothing but foster bad feeling.

For anyone in any doubt, the chequered history of the registration number DJB 93B is discussed as nauseum here;

https://mk1-forum.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=29547

A thread I have repeatedly been accused of censoring! If I have, I'm a bloody useless censor!

I don't see why DJB gets so much more attention than all the other bent "Works cars" who's story isn't as well known.

South West results

1959 Austin 850 No Sale. Estimate was £10,000-£12,000.

Allegro Estate. £3,100 + Buyers Premium, so £3,410 all in. Is that a record for an Allegro?

PS Looking at the recent Brightwells sale, are prices dropping, as there appears to be some real bargains there.

The GT4 Celica and 205 Gti look a steal, likewise the A40’s

It certainly looks to me that prices are decidedly on the slide.

'DJB 93B' enjoyed a retirement shortly after its win in Scotland
In an envelope. :lol:

It's too well known that it's a wrong'un, too many folk know where it came from - some us were there at the time and saw it being built.

IF it sold ;) His very early Cooper S was "sold" at the end of auctions a few times wasn't it - only to re-appear again. And again....
