Funny you should say that about cracking seawater, a study was just published where it was achieved with near 100% efficiency using inexpensive, non-rare or precious catalysts without the need for purifying the seawater first. Very cool. Use a windfarm or solar to generate the power and you can almost solve the whole energy storage "what-happens-when-the-sun-doesn't-shine-or-wind-won't-blow" issue.
