No stocks of SP44's anywhere. Maybe expecting a new batch in the "next month or two".

My experience of the hakka was they were not exactly very round, but great in the wet and loose

That's what I had heard Gordon, Great for grass tracking & general mud plugging, but not a tyre for the road.

There are the Black Rocket ones from Finland:

Didn't Brynmor say he was hoping to import some? Not sure if there are any good options for getting them in the UK otherwise?

The SP 44 is made by Avon and they are not making any more, as the factory is not cost effective. Also they make most of the re made 10 inch tyres on the market, as well as the Avon race rally tyres, none of these are being made so I'm told.

Vintage tyres prices are breath taking, but they do have them:

They list them, but don't have them. Same with Longstone.

I am currently exploring other options.

I've asked my pal who is a tyre dealer / fitter to ask his various suppliers, just on the off chance.

I got this sorted. I managed to get a set of NOS 145 x 10 Kingpin remoulds that are the same pattern as the old Dunlop Monte tyres.

I believe that Longstone now have stock of the very expensive SP44's too.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the Kingpins in use.
Are they mediums or softs?

They are for my Moke, so all they ever do is potter about. can't really comment on performance.

I wasn't inspired by them, even just pottering around on a the one trip up the road I did, however I could never really decide if it was the tyres or the road conditions.

So unsure whether to give them another go or sell the 6 I have to Moke owners! (currently favouring the latter).

I'm perfectly happy with mine on the Moke.

I did indeed, the challenge faced was by the time we added carriage, import duty, vat etc they were coming in about £180-£200 ish.
If we had confirmed orders I’d possibly still do it, but there was so much wing and a prayer currently I’ve popped it on hold.
