You shouldn’t have to, but get your hands on a Mk1 window and show them that their theory doesn’t work

Re: Am I being thick - MINISPORT problem panels
Whilst my personal experience of Minisport has been very similar to other comments on here, they have been running a successful business for many years & they MUST have some happy customers, I'm not too sure where though.
Slagging them off here, whilst serving as a warning to others does little to solve the initial problem, but TBH for a panel that costs as much as that one does, It should at least fit, something like!
Has anyone else used one of these big side panels? I thought that Heritage were using them on their shells now, or maybe I have got that wrong.

Re: Am I being thick - MINISPORT problem panels
My one personal experience with Minisport goes back over 30 years. I ordered a block , offset bored to 73.5 and with the extra stud holes drilled and tapped. Block was delivered to my engine builder. He was a Ford man and not familiar with A series. He had built the bottom end and tried to fit the head. The extra holes were obviously done by hand as they were no where near vertical. Actually about 50 mm out on each at the top of the stud. This is when I noticed that the block hadn’t been offset bored. Not a good experience and to be honest , I wouldn’t even trust a carrier bag from them . Shocking customer service to boot.

Re: Am I being thick - MINISPORT problem panels
I've used MiniSport for years I haven't had any problems that haven't been sorted and done quickly. But I hear so many bad things about them.
I once snapped the bleed nipple off an alloy caliper I'd bought off them 10+ years before.. I rang them up to buy a new one with the boss they just said no worries what's your address I'll send one out to you free of charge
I suspect it's all down to who ends up dealing with the case
What are the measurements of you glass and opening? I'll compare them to my original shell that's bare

Re: Am I being thick - MINISPORT problem panels
Anyone running a Mini spares company who says the Mk1 and Mk2 rear quarter lights were different sizes really needs to go back to school. That’s astonishing. The Mk2 stainless window was even used in the late Mk1 as you all know, surely any Mini supplier would know this? Either way the stainless (Mk2) ones can get a little baggy with age where the sections join so your actual window frames might need looking at Paul.
That’s a baffling response though I have to say.

Re: Am I being thick - MINISPORT problem panels
I do not normally post anywhere and comment on anything, everyone is entitled to their opinions, it's what makes the world go round.
I am making an exception in this case as there is obviously some people with grievances against our company, which are being aired due to a thread which does not tell the whole story. I am not going to discuss any individual comments on a Forum as that unethical and unfair to all parties concerned, I just ask everyone to remember that there are always two sides to every story.
I am always very open to discussing any problem that a customer of ours has with our products or services and try to solve them to the customers satisfaction, we don't always succeed but that doesn't mean we don't care and won't try.
If anyone would like to contact me directly on chris@minisport.com I will happy to discuss and try to solve your issues.
On the current thread, one point I would like to correct is that BMH do use these panels in the production of their MK1 shells and have never rejected any of the panels we have supplied.

Re: Am I being thick - MINISPORT problem panels
We contacted you Chris - Your not interested at all, Pete invited you up to have a look at the panels and show you all the photos but you declined and went on the defensive and told me to take it up with Jim Brindle as the sales contract was with him - Im not doing that to Jim its unfair and not on at all, you gave me a host of reasons as to why your not going to do anything and one of your excuses was the panels are for a MK1 and therefore dont fit a mk2 ??? Hence why i have asked the question on here as I thought I was being thick.chris1663 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 11:25 am I do not normally post anywhere and comment on anything, everyone is entitled to their opinions, it's what makes the world go round.

Ive paid a lot of money for the panels, they are a absolute dreadful fit, Ive paid a lot of money for them to be put right and it would have been nice if you would have made the effort to go look at the problems we have had with them.
Are the panels seconds, are they prototypes or are they just wrong - only you know that but you cant tell me there a quality product and used by Heritage when they are like this - and this is just the very start of the problems with them.
Its not a gripe againt your company, Its a gripe against the bad quality panels i have ended up with and the excuses as to why your not going to do anything about it.
Ive been asking other people that have used the panels and Im now getting a bit of an idea that we may have ended up with some dud panels , then again that may be how they all are.
