Body shell value?

Post by kit of bits »

Hello chaps

In my recent house fire I’ve lost all the original parts and all the restored/ new/ period upgrades for my mk1 mini I’ve owned for 35 years.
The only thing that survived was the bare body shell that was in my storage..
I have thought about many ways to move forward but im now thinking just sell the shell drawing a line and move on with something else.
My questions is what’s a 1964 excellent condition shell worth with only one wing ever changed and a few small repairs?
I’d love to upload a few pictures but the shell is boxed in my storage..
Dave..

If it has not done it in 30yrs, it won’t get done in the next 30, get some fresh meat to work with.

Sad to hear, but I am doing the same with my Sierra Cosworth shells. I'll never get around to building up another, and my interest is in the minis.

We all know the price of a Heritage shell, but also have an idea of how much work they need. Usual questions might be worth revisiting.

ID with the shell or not?

Type of 64 shell, as that was a year for change - dry with centre mounted visors, wet with centre mounted visors, or wet with swivel visors?

This will help any potential purchasers I'd suggest ;-)

Hello
Peter it’s only been apart for 10 years ish, it’s just there’s always another project jumps in front of it.

Andy it’s a dry shell, centre visors I can’t remember the month but I can find out..

Norman, as we spoke about the other day the worst bit about any project at the moment seems to be a bodyshop that can turn around a car in a reasonable amount of time.

I did think about reshelling my S into it but it looks like the S shell will go again..I’m not 100% selling my shell just looking at options to rebuild it or buy something else that works..

We will be selling the 1998 one owner amaranth MPI cooper soon if anyone wants a good car that needs light recommissioning.

The house is almost finished hopefully the builder will be of site by mid march and hopefully I’ll get some money for the contents loss soon.
