MiniSpares minilites

Hi

Has anyone fitted the 4.5” MiniSpares minilites recently? Any issues?

When I owned SCV Kev I put a set of these Minilites on it to see if they'd fit (before I put the D1s on it), they had Yoko A008s on which rubbed on the radius arms very slightly at the back.

Did you have the std or S drums on the back then…?

The insides are the main giveaway- my old original magnesium ones have the thinner outer rim, but I also have a thick rim one here somewhere.

I'm using Dunlop R7s on mine and they provide a bit of cheeky poke on a standard Mk1 shell with S discs and spacer rear drums. Probably not quite legal, but looks great.

Interestingly, looking at the comparison photos from Andypen, the later version of the Minispares ST wheel has a different casting profile on the back face. However, I have seen photos of the back face of the earlier Minispares Minilife wheel that has exactly the same casting rib pattern as the genuine original Minilite. These would be almost indistinguishable from a period Minilite aside from the composition (alloy vs mag-alloy).

As others have said, and I agree, they are great rims, especially if you can't justify the expense of the MS Rosepetals, which would be maybe my other choice if I won the lotto.

Minispares Rosepetals are 4.75" I don't think the Minispares "ST" type Minilite wheel is.

The Minispares Minilites are definitely 4.5s and so are the Japanese CR Rosepetals which is why they look fantastic with the Blockley 145 tyres.
