Has anyone got a late Douglas vespa?
Found a project, what are they like to get parts for?
Yes I've seen plenty online but until you would get stuck in I wouldn't know what's missing and what isn't.
Any advice gratefully accepted
Edit
I suppose a better question is, parts no trouble for an Italian vespa, but what about the British built ones?

Re: Vespa Scooter
First it would be interesting what type of Douglas Vespa you are talking about. That'll define the amount of Douglas specific parts...
Is it a VBB based model built before '65 or a later imported model branded "Douglas"?
Best source of info and parts would likely be to get in contact with the VVC

Re: Vespa Scooter
Vespa Douglas Sportique apparently.
I'm told they're not as desirable as earlier ones, I think this is 64

Re: Vespa Scooter
hi
if you want it to go faster fit a rz yamaha 350 engine in and hang on with all your strength there is one on youtube looks fast parked fitted easily enough
apparently goes rapidly with the small wheels
just kidding the original engine is a safer bet
cheers roger mcnab

Re: Vespa Scooter
The Sportique is more or less a badge engineered VBB 150. Nice one as you can make use of the whole abundance of parts available for the Italian Vespa. Check the type identifier of the VIN below the LH side panel, to make sure what type it is and for reference when ordering parts.
I have no connections to Vespa workshops in Ireland though, only midlands UK
I recommend SIP (https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en) and Scooter Center Cologne SCK (https://www.scooter-center.com/en) for parts.
No need to nowadays fit a motorcycle engine to go fast on a Vespa. Fancy 50+ HP - no problem if money is no issue.
