I believe I will be at Revival this year.

Euro 6 is astonishing. My friend at a BMW dealership told me about the first ones - diesels included - that are having their first MOT.

The emissions probe goes up the exhaust and the machine cannot read what's coming out. I MOT'd a 2020 petrol Fiat 500....same problem.

Please insert probe into the tailpipe.

It already is! They had to manually override the emissions bollocks.

It's sod all to do with the environment. As the head of Stellantis (Peugeot Citroen Vauxhall etc) said, all we are doing with EV's is handing the future of our mobility to the Chinese on a plate.

Here is a good one! My local Waitrose has just installed 6 bays for Ev charging, thus losing 8 spaces for normal cars. What's great is that waitrose only allow you to park therefor 90minutes so if you charge your car and it takes more than 90 minutes, you get a parking ticket!

Recent news reports said the combined market value of Germanys car makers - BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Porsche is barely 50 per cent of Elon Musk's Tesla and Chinese manufactured EV's are eating away Germany's once huge share of the car market....
The drive towards electric cars is already seeing a big increase in new cars being shipped in from China rather than built more locally in UK and Europe and guess what powers all those ships.....

I know its an old argument, but really, It is very difficult to see how shipping heavy, bulky products like cars over 5000 miles is good for the planet - it just seems utter madness. I suppose the ultimate power is with us to stop buying this stuff from a long way away.

What percentage of UK power comes from renewable (wind/solar) sources???

I guess nuclear is still a bit on the fence....

When I started mot testing back in 97 the then new Skoda Octavia (Vw Golf behind the Skud badge) would not go through the emissions test without help . I was at a Brighton area Skoda dealer and the Brighton cabs needed Hackney tests with emissions print out every 6 months hence we were testing cars that had not reached 3 years old . However that has never changed regardless of manufacturer, some diesel emissions stink and I go home with a headache due to the terrible smell but they are too clean to register a reading on the MOT emissions machine. ?

"A Tesla that had run out of power blocked a Wiltshire road for nine hours as it was unable to be removed. The incident happened at Lyndhurst Road junction on the A36 at 2pm yesterday, with the electric vehicle unable to be removed from the road until 9.30pm. A number of local workmen along with the police attempted to push the car to safety, however despite their best efforts they could not move it. The obstruction caused delays throughout the rest of the day...."

Who would think it ? you are not allowed to “ flat tow”a Tesla in case of damage or fire

It also seems if its completely dead (no charge) you have to have it lifted onto a transporter as you cant access the touch screen to select “ transport mode” which disengages the brakes

To be fair though, it must be quite difficult to completely run out of charge turning right at a junction

No wonder the Police, etc have not got a clue what to do with a stranded EV, they probably spent most of the day trying to understand the Tesla instruction manual for fear of being liable for causing expensive damage to the car!

eg. CAUTION
Because the windows automatically lower slightly when you open or close a door, always connect to an external, low voltage power supply before opening a door if the vehicle has no power to avoid breaking a window.
