Yes I've got a dpf issue, but at least I have a warranty!
Reading up on them, I think they might not be so complicated actually, but if one link in the chain lets it down it won't work.
That’s exactly it. Then you’re engine management will switch your turbo off. Then you’ll get it all fixed, spend a bomb on new filter and glow plugs and / or EGR and then get clobbered by your local ULEZ anyway. Oh for a crystal ball……

My 87 landrover is CAZ compliant, yet a 2015 defender isn't
2015 transits aren't compliant, so don't come to Sheffield if you drive one
Found that out the hard way with the landy, even though it has all the emmissions stuff on - a very expensive hundred yards in Bradford
It's a right load of bollocks as far as I'm concerned, commercial motorists are now avoiding the CAZ zone and going round Sheffield in the residential areas, making more pollution in these areas than there ever was.
Back on with work vans...what about an Electric Transporter 80 miles on one charge....

Our local electrician bought a second hand Nissan electric van… the key thing here is local! He goes no more than a 20 mile radius from home, he also went for a smaller van as like most trades he was guilty of lugging around literally all of his kit that 80% of the jobs didn’t need! He says he’s saved a fortune on fuel even with the current higher electric rate.
Talking of ULEZ and the like other parasitic councils who are springing them up everywhere. I have heard that locally some wanton lawbreakers, with no regard to the feelings of the well meaning Councillors and Green lobby have been resorting to dirty tricks.
It pains me to the core to say it but it seems as though some of the miscreants have been using one of those easy-to-rub-off whiteboard markers to make a subtle change to the number plate. For example - and please don't try this at home - by adding a leg or dash to change a C into a G, an F into an E or..... you get my drift. And then, as soon as they leave the area the naughty scoundrels wipe it off again. Have you ever heard of such lowly tricks?
The naughtiness that these scoundrels are resorting to hurts my sense of fair play

It’s a sledge hammer to crack a nut. Like most Ill thought out draconian legislation it hammers the people who can least afford it. It’s taken how many years to get to where we are now and yet the powers that be want emissions solved overnight with no regard for the negative effect to the local economy. Luckily Andy Burnham was told exactly where to shove his 500 square mile clean air zone by Mancunians but it’ll be back. Most small businesses will be looking at an average of about a £15k spend to buy a compliant van.
Personally I’ve had enough of Transits, looking for a Renault currently.
