After trying a couple of paints I found that led an paint used on radio controlled cars was just the ticked, as this has to be used on the inside of the plastic moulded shell so the colours are correct when looking on the outside.

What brand of paint did you use because that finish is excellent?

It was The ultimate chrome, I could only get it for America as all uk distributors had no stock, and still have not!

Not much progress over the last few months due to work commitments.
Should hopefully have the rear wheels on over the coming weeks then onto the front subframe etc…
Whilst I wait for parts and cash flow I started to drag out the engine and strip down.
The engine looks like a standard 998 pre a+ block, the cylinder head is 12A1456sm - is this correct for a 73 Innocenti t? Anyone know much about this head?

I would have thought in '72 they had used a Innocenti 1001 engine with the 12G295 head - so this head with the valve spring clips on your engine does not seem right to me (wheren't these a much older design from the very early model years of the Mini)

To my knowledge the van did not benefit from the saloon engine, and if I recall the advertisements correctly has a lower HP number mentioned. So the head could be correct.
