What fun
I had some great times in Austin 7s many years ago. I wouldn't mind another now - but probably just a Ruby saloon to potter around in. As you said earlier Mark, an A7 can get around without bother in snow. I'd miss having no heater though nowadays

Re: Adam's Austin 7 Fetish
I remember my Mum telling me that in Winter Granny & Grandpa had hot water bottles in their first car, which I'm sure was an A7. Many years later in the showroom I discovered that it was a not uncommon thing in Vintage Bentleys & Rolls Royce's to have a footrest that was in effect a hot water bottle (albeit in brass) covered in carpet for the rear passengers!

No problems for Adam on that score. It has turned out that the engine in it is nothing more than a hugely exotic kettle. Engine swap this evening

My dad's first car, Morris 8, no heater obviously, so he plumbed a length of copper tubing into the cooling system and screwed it to the top of the dash so he could hold onto it with one hand while driving. Do you think we're spoiled nowadays ?

We certainly are! That's why everyone has turned soft. Nothing to worry about & no discomfort in our lives.

Cheers Andy.
I'm sure that Adam will be happy to take you out for a spin next time you are over.

A fantastic machine, I'm sure we saw the 'Hogstow Special' at Harewood Hillclimb a couple of years ago.
