We got 5 hrs for the Scimitar.

That time was needed to stop water entry thru doors and tailgate and rectify bad earth connections.
 I can vouch for that

Wow. That model brings back memories of an epic drive back from South Wales to London on the M4 in the 1980's acting as "spotter." As the song in Baby Driver "Was he slow?" NOOOO!

"A problem with the V6 engine's carburettors made the Scimitar GTE prone to fires."
(Scroll down and according to this check the fuel lines fed into the V6 carbs!)

I've replaced all fuel hoses. Now I know why the original owner had an extinguisher in the footwell !! These "well informed" articles do make me laugh though, what a load of p**h :D. Ooh, the XJS was flawed in having poor fuel economy

Think I'd have preferred the '30!

I have my Mk2, far nicer drive than the 30, I was never going to use it, fed up just looking at it so no skin off my nose really. This is just something to keep me occupied, once I've finished it I'll be moving it on. Just started on a full suspension overhaul, happy as a pig in the proverbial.

Considering buying my wife a 30 for her 50th in 2 years time we've both always loved them. Hopefully a suitable one will turn up closer to the time!

Keeping busy with refurbishment of the suspension, as usual spending more than planned, new set of adjustable coilovers, replacing all bushes & ball joints. Rear suspension and braking system next then decide if I will hold onto it or not. It's just something to keep me motivated so not going to become too attached to it.

Much needed front brake overhaul. In tradition with parts bin specials the calipers are common with certain Transits however there are several types with differing mounting hole pitches so finding the correct ones is both difficult and expensive surprisingly. Overhauling them is definitely the best option. Fortunately it came with the OEM parts to do so.
