Looking for an idler drop gear as used in an 1128 4 synchro gearbox. I believe this gear was common across the range of remote change 4 synchro boxes from late Cooper S to 1300's. This idler gear has a longer shaft on one side and looks like the upper one in this picture-

I am in need of one that is in good shape and has relatively unblemished bearing and thrust surfaces. Please let me know if there are any available.

Thanks
Gary

I have one, photos at:

The 2mm long mark on teh first picture is the only mark I can see on the shafts and thrust faces. The dark areas on the shafts are actually the reflection of the gear itself.

Gary, as suggested in your other thread, have you had a chance to check with Seven? Though not always advertised, both Seven and Mini Mania often have good used parts for sale. Though not discussed much these days, there is also MiniCity in the northeast. Calls to these vendors are often faster/better than emails.

I cannot remember if this was discussed in the other thread. If George cannot provide you with an idler gear, could you use one of the idlers with both shafts the same length?

I was thinking that you could get a shorter needle bearing and turn a collar to position it correctly in the clutch cover so it supports the shorter shaft.

May be able to adapt a 3 synchro (symmetric shaft) gear however I wound up ordering an aftermarket replacement from MS so I will give that a go first...
