Jip it's an Paddy Hopkirk Mk1 steering wheel upper ring to hold the badge.
Now and than you see the wheel for sale but the ring is always missing.

My best find was a Speedwell rev counter a few years back at a local auto jumble for £8 ... sold it on eBay for £120 the following week.

Wished I'd kept it now though as would look good in HOY.

ha ha sign of the times .. I bought a speedwell rev counter at Beaulieu last year for £120 and I thought that it was a lucky find! Someone wanted £400 for a broken one at Castle Combe the year before and he wouldn't budge on price

I used to be quite lucky with local auction houses.
An autographed Beatles Please, Please me....and also a hand drawing of John Lennon signed by Neil Aspinall...both came as a big lot from a Liverpool house clearance

My best find was getting this book, The Cars Of BMC by Graham Robson for two pounds at the Ballymena Car Show. Graham was judging at this show and I got him to sign it later that day :D
