Although tomorrows weather forecast is sh......poor, it is the annual Scooter event at Matlock Bath called ' Beat the Bikers '...where the Scooter Boys, mostly riding classic 60's Lambretta SX...TV...GT...GP..200's get there before the ' Old Duffers ;) ' on their Norton Commando's ( and the like ;) )……..normally a good do...and sometimes there's the odd 60's Mini. As it's just down the road from me I'm going on my GP 200. :D :D Worth a look if you heven't got anything better to do and are in the area at 10 am.........

50yrs ago I could have turned up on a Gold Star or a Black Shadow but I don't think I would have been welcome
Have a good day, hope the weather stays fine
It's 40 years slnce I left Derbyshire
It was a great place to grow up and thrash my MGB, Nerus 997 Cooper or Downton Cooper S round the Hope Valley
Happy Days

Hey, Spoons...., nothing wrong with an OIL TIGHT Commando! Will hold is own on the bends today. Have a good day.

Just looked at the you-tube video. I can see the reason for the shortage of those Lucas L576 lamps now!!!!!

Today was a bit of a wash out as it Pis…...d down. On top of that I had to take the plug out of my TV 200 …..which brought the threads with it !! Engine out to remove and repair / replace cylinder head
Nice breakfast at the café though !!
Perhaps a Commando would have been a better option...……. ;) :D :D

What a bugger about the cylinder head. Can't the thread be replaced? Or just not economic?

I'll probably helicoil it Peter, although I do have a spare. I'd like to check a few other details on the engine while it's out also. One for the winter nights :)
