I'm pretty sure that the Mk1/2 T-shaped handle made it to Mk3 production - I had a 1971 Mini with that shape handle on it which was very original when bought.

I'd bet that it came in on the first Mk3's as part of a safety related change. The T handle isn't in my Mk3 parts list and my very late Mk2 had the T

I am the guy where we have the discussion about :D

My mk3 850 registered in 71, but built in 1970 has the mk1/2 T bootlock and was in original state when bought, even with original airfilter on it after 40.000 km :?

From my understanding all 70/71 mk3’s and cooper s models had the T bootlock. Next they also had some more differences like thicker chrome opening rear windows (mk2), interior light (mk2), 2 toggle switches, magic wand for 850, morris/austin logo on bootlid above engine size?
