The Austin Allegro 1300 Special, a version never offered on the British market, had a great deal more showroom appeal than the UK versions. Chris Cowin takes a closer look for AROnline:-

But it's still an Allegro!

No better in any way than the 1100s & 1300s it replaced.

I thought they rusted less? Whether that is a good or a bad thing is another question of course....

They must have been onto something though as Aston seem to have nicked an Allegro steering wheel for their latest generation of cars.
