Back around the time of this Cooper S, if it had hydro suspension a lot of people were converting back to dry as hydro steel pipes were rotting at a rapid rate and it was an expensive job to replace with new, so not surprising that this one has dry suspension.

True. But this car has only just been restored / is being restored - for £45K I'd want the hydro....

I agree. I also don't think the mk3 has the same classic value as the mk1 and 2.

They should be somewhere between a 1275GT and an Innocenti. 20 grand for a nice one. They're alright but a bit bland - hard to see where the money went when everyone thinks it's a Mini 1000.

I’ve always loved the Mk III Cooper S and to say it is a rare bird is an understatement. Yes it lost the two-tone paint and the distinctive radiator grille. The early black pleated upholstery in the Mk III is gorgeous. The Mk III Cooper S is the nicest and most refined Cooper S up until the Rover Coopers appeared in 1994.

Nice original Mk III Cooper S cars are now very hard to find and buy trust me :D

Personally I don't particularly like it.....it looks to have too many new, shiny repro parts...

How about a lovely reproduction BMC rosette for your workshop wall?

Or if you are feelong flush, you could buy a genuine one for £500

Fricken twisters!
