Anyone know what happened to the '59 Mini?
250 LPK
✗ Untaxed
Tax due: 01 December 1981
Vehicle make: MORRIS
Date of first registration: October 1959
Year of manufacture: 1959
Cylinder capacity (cc): 848 cc
Fuel type: PETROL
Export marker: No
Vehicle status: Not taxed
Vehicle colour: RED
A mystery - it may well have been just weighed in but even in '84 there was some interest in 1959 cars as long as they weren't completely knackered

Amazingly it sill exists but in need of serious restoration. It still belongs to a friend of mine whose mother bought the car in 1965. It was him who posted the for sale ad in 1984 but obviously had nobody interested in buying it. I ended up storing it at my premises for many years until he eventually took it back home. He was only talking to me recently about getting it restored. It will need a lot of work though.

Thanks for the update on 250 LPK.......at least he won't look back with regret and wish he had not sold it back in '84 or scrapped it. The current value on the market should mean a good financial return for him even as a barn find/basket case project.

I received the owners handbook for my Grandad's 1965 Island blue Austin Mini in the post today following my Gran's passing. Within is a BMC travel rug advert!
