John Rhodes is a legend as I'm sure you'll all agree and just wanted to say a big happy birthday to him here! Feel free to add your comments and birthday wishes and I'll send them all to him! Put your name at the bottom.

He was on top form at Prescott recently, he's 89 today! Happy Birthday!

good effort

john is one of my heroes and my proudest racing memories are of actually getting to race with him in HGTCC. it made my year when he said that I 'reminded him of himself when he was younger' thanks to some of my sideways drifting.

it was always tinged with sadness after his accident when that idiot crashed into him and I literally saw his race carer end in front of my eyes.

its also fantastic to see how he has not let his eyesight problems define him, he looked so dapper and smart at Prescott.

a true gentleman racer and a very nice and humble man

If you Brits can Knight a cyclist, then why hasn't a Mini racer been given a gong? Sir John Rhodes would be a good start.

Alas, not on the radar I dare say. Which is unfortunate.

My kindest regards to John on his 89th birthday.

I fully agree.
I have not had the privilege to have met the great John Rhodes yet, but having read about his racing days in books and online, he would surely be a worthy recipient of a Knighthood in my opinion.

My fellow Northern Irishman Paddy Hopkirk had been awarded an MBE so I suppose that's as much of an honour a Mini racer/rally driver is going to get.

John is truly a gentleman. I invited him to Curborough and he came almost every year. He didn't strut around like he owned the place and was genuinely delighted that people would allow him to drive their cars.
