I repaired my by drilling and tapping I think M4, which was the size of the peg, screwed in a bolt with some locktite and then cut down to length.

Hi Ed,
Yes, that was my plan when back to work next week, drill, tap and screw a cap head bolt in. Then carefully file or use my Katsu mini angle grinder to cut the sides off to replicate the boss as required.
