I had the same problem, years ag, all I did was drill the body where the peg was and put in a cut-down split pin in it. worked well, as the rubber grommet should allow the float chamber to "float"

There's a couple on ebay right now but with vacuum. Easy to drill out and blank off.

I have a couple with the vacuum and did think about blanking it off but would prefer an original if I can find one. ;)

Did think whether I could ‘repair’ it Roland. Will do that as a last resort.

I've repaired a few carbs with the same problem, caused by not holding the float chamber when undoing the bolt. I drilled and tapped them M3 for a s/steel bolt and made a small ally block to suit. If you get stuck I might have a few spares somewhere.

Hmm that might work Bob .. I still have the broken off bit so might be able to use that.

I didn't get down to the shed last night, but feel fairly sure I will have one.

Hi Mark,

If you could have a look and let me know that would be great, thanks :)

If not I'll try and repair this one like Bob suggested.
