metal air filter box

Post by mischu »

Hello,
I am new here and would like to ask, if somebody would sell a metal airfilter box. I need two, one for a 1071 Cooper S and the other for an 1275 MK1 Cooper S.

The numbers are:
12A675
12A955

Thanks for your help!
Regards
Michael

I paid £300 for one off eBay Italy in fully refurbished/NOS condition complete with both elbows, seals and proper S wing nuts. That’s probably toward the upper end of the price range.

Not cheap at all...

I chose what I considered to be over paying with for the one I bought at £300, because I needed a specific type (Mk2 deeper type but with the corner cut) to fit the modified braking system of my specific Mk1 car.

But now I see there are some refurbished Mk2 deep and Mk3 shallow boxes advertised on eBay for well over £500 currently

Month on month they are advertised at this amount but never sell.

The rarer version is the 1071 with the central pipe, so that may fetch a premium I'm afraid. Dermot discuss the different types here:

Hi Andy, well we live and learn, I never knew the 1071 had a central pipe, must go and check which my 2 are.
