Hello all,

Looking for an early straight gear stick for my '60 Morris.

Please let me know if you have one available.

Cheers,
Rich

If you find one Richard, it would be good to see if a copy can be fabricated from it.

Bill Bell ('59 register) may know of where one can be found.

As we discussed by email, mine is a bastardised one comprising of cranked stick 'ball end' welded onto the original straight stick.

Good luck with the hunt!

Thanks Graham.

I will ask Bill for advice, tried by email and PM on the Site but I've not had any luck reaching him other than by the Facebook group thing.

Fabricating a stick might be the answer, the images I've seen appear to show the earlier stick is thicker / heavier than the later cranked version, not sure.

Cheers,
Rich

Desperately seeking early straight 'magic wand' gear stick for my '60 Morris.

Somehow missed one listed on Ebay in December, which apparently sold for circa £100.

Please let me know if you can help.

Thanks

Got one for sale. It's a bit tatty, paint sanded off with small amount of pitting to the metal revealed, but essentially solid. Obviously needs a refurb. Came off an early 1960 car.
Original knob present but it has a sheared off section. I imagine it could be 'glued' to make an unobtrusive repair.
£75 collection from Aylesbury, Bucks.
Will try to put up pics.

Pics of gear lever.
PS from an Austin but presume must have been exactly the same as Morris.
