Hi all

I’m looking for a steel 998 crank

Is there such a thing ? EN40 998 crankshaft?

Yes they do exist but have not been made for a good while.

They are not any better at surviving than a tuftrided standard one. In my experience you simply cannot get enough air into a 998 to make it revolve fast enough to break one.

I have broken 1275 cranks but never a small bore one, even an 1100 I ran for a while as my rally engine.

A properly balanced and set up 998 will go past 8000rpm regularly without breaking.
