For Sale Section Rules

PLEASE NOTE! Postings in this section are deleted automatically after they have not been looked at for 30 days.

1) This section is for advertising items that you have for sale. Not for the discussion of listed items. If you wish to debate the pro's & Con's of any item listed, please start a new topic in the appropriate section.

2) If you have items for sale on ebay, please post them in the appropriate section. This section is NOT for the advertisement of your ebay auctions.

3) If you have a number of items to sell, post them in a single ad marked "Multiple Parts" or similar. DO NOT post many individual advertisements as this forces everyone else's listings down the page.

4) It is expected that any items advertised on the forum are described fairly & honestly. It is the duty of the seller to ensure that this is the case.

5) Items listed for sale should WHEREVER POSSIBLE* be offered with a purchase price, not asking for bids from members. If you wish to auction your item to the highest bidder I would suggest you use ebay & pay the associated fees.

6) This section is offered as a free service to enthusiasts. Any deals made are between the buyer & seller only. The MK1 forum takes no part in any transaction & the appearance of any item in this section is not a recommendation. I strongly suggest that both buyers & sellers are happy to proceed with a deal before any money or goods change hands.

7) It expected that members contribute something to the forum before posting for sale advertisements. Any Adverts placed by members with a post count lower than 5 will be deleted.

8) The advertising of or soliciting for VIN tags, log books or any other vehicle identification documentation without it's associated vehicle is expressly forbidden. Any member breaking this rule will have his membership terminated with immediate effect.

9) If a moderator considers any postings in this section to violate either the spirit or word of these simple requests the MK1 Forum reserves the right to delete any posts without prior warning or explanation.

10) The posting of items for sale on the MK1 forum constitutes explicit acceptance of these simple rules.

It would be much appreciated if sellers could leave the sale price on adverts after the item has been sold. This acts as a good measure of current value for other sellers.

* In some cases it may not be possible for the seller to list items with a sale price. In this case, listings will be reviewed on a case by case basis by a moderator. The moderators decision will be final.

For Sale - Feb 70 Austin Mini Clubman Auto

Post by alexm »

Afternoon all,

I put the car up for sale towards the end of last year, had a few enquiries, no bites. I then decided to wait until the Miniworld feature appeared before trying again. This is really putting the feelers out given the CV-19 situation making viewings/test drives a touch difficult!

See this months Miniworld for the full story on this car. (Note car now has a lovely original Clubman steering wheel and can come with a set of standard 10" steels, with the correct Clubby hubcaps)

1970 Austin Mini Clubman

Glacier white
3 owners, first two from the same family
Original engine, 41k miles, auto box had work and new clutch fitted around 39k miles (2005 ish)
Lots of paperwork history, heritage certificate confirming it being sent to Autopalace, Llandrindod Wells, Wales.
Sympathetic restoration. Lots of original paint. A few blemishes and imperfections (car is now 50), but lovely patina. Didn't want to over-restore it
Both original subframes stripped down, painted. Refurbished
Stage 1 kit and tune up, retaining original metal air box. Twin box RC40.
Engine cleaned, repainting factory BMC green
Engine bay stripped, cleaned, re-sprayed
Drives really well. Smooth on original hydro and auto box performs as it should
Major engine service and two oil flushes carried out less than 200 miles ago
Loads of photographs of the restoration
Interior is in amazing condition - just required a black carpet set (treated to Newton Commercial).

46 auto clubmans on the DVLA database. 6 from 1970, the earliest recorded year. This one was built Feb 2nd, so it highly likely the oldest. Car is within 5 months of Clubman production, which means low FE/chassis numbers. Bonnet steady on passengers side, chrome mk2 interior switches with dash mounted ignition barrel. Probably one of the earliest clubbys left on the road.

Fuel sender needs replacing - I have bought one, with seal and retainer ring - all included
One dash bulb out - again I have bought a couple, and included
Hydro is sitting high on factory pressure. You'll see from the pic below where I'm driving it, it sits down fine once going. You might want to lower a touch

I'm asking £9500 o.v.n.o
I am potentially open to a part-ex on a Mk1 or MK2 saloon or estate. Prefer a project.

Serious enquiries only please. I'm looking to find this car a good home, someone who like me, is fine with the auto thing! As long as you don't tell me your plans, the car would be a great basis for a 1275GT tribute.
